following are a list of frequently asked questions:
Q. What are the
nameservers?
A.
The nameservers are ns1.ottawa-host.com and ns2.ottawa-host.com
Q. How
can I pay for service?
A. We accept PayPal for payments
(http://www.paypal.com). We can
also accept *e-mail payments, *cheques, and *money orders and *cash. *For 1 year
payments only.
Q. Where
are you located?
A. We
are in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Q. Can
I host adult content/torrents/warez/irc/etc.?
A.
All of the above are forbidden and your account will be terminated if
any is found
Q. What/Where
is my Control Panel?
A.
Your Control Panel is where you can setup e-mail accounts, MySQL
Databases, and install scripts. It is located at
http://www.yourdomain.com:2082
Q. Do
you have any other plans available?
A. We
can customize a plan for you. Please note, the same pricing structure
will remain so expect a low price for your plan!
Q. What
happens if I go over my diskspace/bandwith?
A. If
you go over your disk space, you will simply not be able to add any
more files. If you go over your bandwidth
your account will lock. If either of these happens to you, please
contact us at support@ottawa-host.com.
We do keep
a close eye on your usage, and will probably let you know before you go
over if we catch it.
Q. I
can't seem to send/receive e-mail?
A. If
you can't send e-mail using the mail.yourdomain.com server you have
been provided, you will
probably need to use your ISP's outgoing mail servers. Companies such
as Rogers block outgoing mail from any servers other than their
own. You will need to contact them to find out how to setup their
outgoing mail servers for your domain.
Another cause of this problem is nameservers. You will need to go to
the site where you registered your domain and
change the 'nameservers' to ns1.ottawa-host.com
and ns2.ottawa-host.com. Without this change your
domain will
not know that it is supposed to be pointing to our servers. Sometimes
you will have to physcially contact the company where the domain is
hosted to
make that change.
Q. How
will you bill me?
A.If paying via PayPal, your payment will come out automatically on the due date. If paying by cheque, cash, money order etc. an e-mail will be sent when your payment is due.
